Skills in Demand Visa

The Skills in Demand (SID) visa serves as a versatile four-year bridge for Australian enterprises looking to integrate global expertise into their teams.

This visa replaces previous temporary models with a more flexible structure, ensuring that businesses can quickly onboard the technical and professional skills required to thrive in the current market.

The Skills in Demand (SID) visa is divided into three pathways: the Core Skills Stream, Specialist Skills Stream, and Labour Agreement Stream. The Labour Agreement Stream is anticipated to transition into the Essential Skills Stream in the future.

Employer Nominated Scheme

The Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) is an Australian permanent residency pathway designed for qualified professionals who have secured a formal endorsement from an Australian business.

Unlike temporary work permits, this visa grants holders immediate permanent status, providing a stable foundation to live, build a career, and enroll in education throughout Australia without a set departure date.

Every profession listed on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) qualifies for permanent residency through the 186 Direct Entry pathway, provided the applicant meets the standard nomination criteria.

Employer Sponsored Regional Visas

The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa is a five-year pathway designed to address workforce gaps in Australia’s growing regional communities.

This visa allows skilled professionals to live and contribute to local industries in any part of the country excluding the major metropolitan hubs of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. It serves as a bridge to permanent residency, requiring holders to remain committed to regional living and employment for a set period before transitioning to a permanent status.

Training Visa

The Training Visa (Subclass 407) is a temporary Australian permit that facilitates professional growth through structured, workplace-based programs.

Valid for up to two years, its primary objective is to allow individuals to refine their expertise, satisfy professional registration standards, or engage in high-level professional development. While standard work visas are designed to fill immediate labor gaps, the 407 visa is specifically tailored for mentorship and practical instruction, acting as a bridge between theoretical knowledge and Australian industry standards. It is also important to note that dependent visa holders are only entitled to work 20 hours per week whilst holding this visa.

Temporary Work Visa

The Temporary Work (subclass 400) visa allows overseas professionals to travel to Australia for short-term assignments that require highly specialised skills. It is designed for work that is non-ongoing, time-bound, and cannot be readily performed by the local workforce. In certain cases, it may also be granted for activities that support Australia’s broader interests.Businesses typically rely on this visa when they need niche expertise not available domestically—for example, bringing in a specialist to install or commission imported equipment.
